Winter is cold season. Our children cough, runny nose, sleep is lighter, appetite varies… Here are some tips to help you relieve your children naturally.

Cleansing and moisturizing the nose
It is very important to keep your child's nasal passages well hydrated with a commercial or homemade saline solution. If your child does not blow his or her nose alone, use a baby nose blower to thoroughly clean your child's nose. Do it several times a day.
Overall hydration
Make sure your child is well hydrated. Drink it regularly. If your child is breastfed, do not hesitate to make him drink more often. It will thus benefit from your antibodies. Avoid giving sugary juices.
Vitamins and Minerals
Increase fruit and vegetable intake. These foods contain several vitamins and minerals that will help boost your child's immune system. It is also important to give a vitamin D supplement when exposure to the sun does not allow the body to synthesize it. Feed your child light meals. Have him snack on raw vegetables. Reduce consumption of foods containing gluten(wheat) like bread and pasta. Promote foods that are easy to digest so as not to overload your child's digestive system.
Sleep
Your child needs rest. Let him sleep and rest. This allows him to better recover and regain his strength.
Humidifier
It is important to maintain good humidity in the house. Open the windows to change the air or use a humidifier. In this case, be sure to maintain it well to avoid contamination.
Probiotics
You may want to consider taking probiotics during cold season to help modulate your child's immune response or stabilize gut flora after taking antibiotics1. Several alternatives are available for children, either in the form of drops or powder.
Massage
Your chiropractor can tell you about massages to give your child to help him breathe better and facilitate the drainage of secretions.
Protect yourself from the cold
When it's cold, the immune system is more challenged to respond to foreign attacks, so it weakens. It is important to protect your child's head well, because it is the area of the body where there is the most heat loss.
Chiropractic treatment in children aims to restore nerve function allowing the body to express itself and achieve a state of well-being and he alth. It allows to improveproper alignment and mobility of vertebral segments. In infants, spinal adjustment is done using the tip of the finger and the pressure exerted is very light, similar to a touch.
Regular follow-up with the chiropractor makes it possible to identify possible sources of spinal dysfunction and thus prevent the appearance of future problems. Good spinal hygiene is the key to better he alth.
