Most of us associate detox with deprivation, starvation, fasting, green juice cleanses and “weird” food. Is it really necessary to suffer to detox?

Did you know you can detox with plenty of delicious food? Here is a new type of easy to do detox, a "reset" of your metabolism. This is what I do with my clients in just 10 days. So why don't you?
I constantly see the impact poor food choices have on the he alth of my clients.
The average person consumes 152 pounds of sugar per year, which equates to approximately 22 teaspoons of sugar per person per day. It's even worse for children, who consume an average of 34 teaspoons a day, making almost a quarter of teenagers diabetic or pre-diabetic.
In addition to being harmful, sugar is also extremely addictive. It is thus considered that sugar is 8 times more addictive than cocaine. Being addicted to sugar is not an emotional eating disorder, but simply a biological disorder. It's actually hormones and neurotransmitters that createthose sugar cravings, leading us to uncontrolled overeating. This is the main reason why 70% of Americans and 40% of children are overweight.
Many of us suffer from bothersome symptoms such as joint or muscle pain, poor concentration, fatigue, headaches, allergies, gas, or more serious problems such as illnesses autoimmune, migraines, asthma, acne, irritable bowel, reflux, arthritis or worse.
When I use the word detox, I mean detox from harmful foods like sugar. I like to use the image of turning off the tap on the arrival of toxins, to help the body cleanse itself. We remove the bad things to replace them with good things! This detox works because it removes all addictive foods and chemicals for just 10 days, so the body can restart and reset.

Do you feel bad?
Do you feel like you are waking up with less and less vitality? Are you less dynamic, less joyful, less lively, less energetic? Even if you are thin, you may have symptoms of toxicity such as fatigue, difficulty concentrating, digestive problems, headaches or many other symptoms, in short, a detox can do you a lot of good.
Want to lose weight?
We are told losing weight is righta matter of calories in versus calories out, it's a matter of balance, eating less and exercising more. What if it was more complicated than that? Sugar and flour trigger addiction and overeating. They increase your insulin and inflammation, causing you to “store” belly fat and preventing your body from feeling full. Sugar calories are worse than whole food calories. Sugar spikes insulin and triggers inflammation; it then becomes impossible to lose weight in the long term.
Can't control your cravings for sugar or bread?
Did you know that sugar and flour are biologically addictive? We often judge overweight people, we think they are gluttons. Know that our biology has been hijacked by the food industry. They hacked into our taste buds, brain chemistry, hormones, and metabolism! Sugar is the new nicotine of the 2000s. In fact, sugar is eight times more addictive than cocaine! If you're trying to use your willpower to lose weight, chances are you'll fail. Why not use science to help you break free from the addictive power of sugar, flour and other hyper-processed food substances?

Never had a detox?
Most of us have never taken 10 days in our life to eat only fooddelicious and natural. Only 10 days. Even if you think you are he althy, you may not realize that your normal state may not be your optimal state. Think of it like a big housecleaning, a very easy and super-fast way to optimize your he alth.
You need a rest
It's easy to slip away from a he althy lifestyle: too little sleep, too little exercise, too much bad food, too much stress, not enough time for ourselves…etc.. The best way to reset your life is to do a 10-day detox: no toxins, no sugar, no flour, no processed foods, no caffeine, no alcohol. Only fresh foods that stimulate liver detoxification pathways, reduce inflammation, balance blood sugar, improve bowel function.
Hydrate well, sleep deeply for 7 to 8 hours a night, do some physical exercise, as well as deep breathing exercises, have a balanced daily rhythm, what!
5 steps to regain your he alth and lose weight
So now that you know why you need detox, do you want to do it without pain and without suffering? "Let your food be your only medicine", said Hippocrates (460-370 BC). It is not today that food is considered the key, food is the most powerful medicine on the planet to remedy your he alth problems.he alth.
1- Be drastic, and quit right away
The best way to stop an addiction is to stop it completely. This detox works because it removes all addictive foods and chemicals for just 10 days, so the body can restart and reset.
Ideally for 10 days:
- Stop all forms of sugar, all flour products and all artificial sweeteners.
- Give up all grains. Here I include EVERYTHING, even brown rice, quinoa or other brains whole or not.
- Set aside all dairy products.
- Stop trans or hydrogenated fats, and refined vegetable oils.
- Avoid monosodium glutamate (MSG) which is a flavor enhancer commonly added to Chinese foods, canned vegetables, soups and meats.
- Avoid all canned, canned or labeled foods. Eat only fresh, real, natural foods.
- Quit caffeine and alcohol. Go on! You are able, it is only for 10 days.
2- Start your day with protein
Add protein to every meal, especially breakfast. Protein is essential for detoxification. It is the key to balancing blood sugar (sugar levels) and insulin. They ward off cravings and avoid bouts of fatigue in the afternoon.
- Start the day with organic eggs or a smoothie withquality protein.
- Use nuts, seeds, eggs, fish, chicken, or meat (grass-fed animals) for protein at every meal. Aim for a serving of 4-6 oz or the size of your palm.

3- Eat Unlimited Vegetables
Did you know that vegetables contain good carbohydrates? Eat as much vegetables as you want, but avoid root vegetables such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squash and beets for 10 days.
- Choose vegetables from the cruciferous family: broccoli, cauliflower, kale, cabbage.
- Choose bitter vegetables daily: endive, radicchio, arugula, artichoke.
- Favor vegetables from the alliaceae family: garlic, onion, shallot, leek.
- Eat asparagus, green beans, mushrooms, zucchini, tomatoes, fennel, eggplant, peppers, etc.
4- Replace sugar with he althy fats
Fat doesn't make you fat, sugar does! Good fat fills you up, satiates you, and balances your blood sugar levels.
- Organic extra virgin olive oil
- The Lawyer
- Plain uns alted nuts and seeds
- Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Butter
- Fatty fish rich in omega-3: sardines, herring, mackerel.
- At every meal, make sure you're getting good fats with your protein.
5- Surround yourself,use your friends
Research shows that obesity is contagious. You are more likely to be overweight if your friends, parents, siblings are overweight. But the good news is that he alth is also contagious. So find yourself a friend, relative or get together at work and do the 10 day detox together.
In summary, if the food has a label, we do not eat it. If the food was made in a factory, you don't eat it. What you put in your mouth has a very powerful power. If you eat the right foods, the body knows what to do, and you could be he althy again within days. Are you motivated to rehab, end your cravings for sugar and bread? Want to renew and reboot your he alth? Detox in 10 days. 10 short days! Certain vitamin supplements can be added to optimize the cure, so do not hesitate to seek advice from your certified naturopath, as not all supplements are created equal. Cheers!
