You want major changes in your look, but you wonder how to do it and in what order? It is essential to know that you need a style that sticks to your skin, in which you will feel good and confident. Each of you can have the look that pleases and inspires you, provided you respect the proportions of your silhouette.

First step: identify your figure

The best way to do this is to look at yourself standing in front of a mirror and observe the definition of your silhouette, without cheating!

A-shaped figure: The shoulders are rather narrow compared to the hips.

Objective: Avoid what draw attention to the hips and prioritize tops that accentuate the shoulders.

H-shaped silhouette: Shoulders, waist and hips are in the same alignment.

Objective: Feminize your figure and define your waist with clothesbelted, wide belts or Empire cut tops.

V-shaped silhouette: The shoulders are wider than the hips.

Objective: Put the emphasis on the lower body, printed skirts for example or flamboyant shoes. Avoid pants that are very narrow at the bottom.

Figure of 8: The shoulders are the same width as the hips and the waist is well defined. The perfect figure!

Goal: Emphasize your natural curves by wearing clothes that hug your curves. Avoid oversized pieces.

O-shaped figure: The middle part of the figure, the waist and the chest are rather round, and the legs are generally slender.

Objective: Wear scoop necklines like a V and highlight your legs: skirt for example

Of course there are several variants for each of these silhouettes: length of the torso, short neck, drooping chest, flat buttocks… You have to learn to know your little flaws and also your advantages: beautiful legs, defined waist, good proportion of the buttocks, flat stomach…

Second step: determine your style of dress

Are you classic, romantic, dramatic, natural, creative, urban chic? Check out the article How to find my style.

Third step: wardrobe evaluation

Assess your current wardrobe and to do so, place yourclothes by categories/color/cuts. The objective is to make a diagnosis: does it lack punch? Are all your pants the same color? Are all blouses too baggy? Do you have dresses, skirts? Are your shoes shabby?

Fitting on your clothes is essential in order to identify the best elements of your wardrobe while taking into account the style you want and your figure.

What is no longer suitable for various reasons should be removed from your wardrobe in order to see clearly.

Fourth step: hair and make-up

Here is a step not to be overlooked! Consult your hairdresser and discuss with him your desire for renewal and the style of dress you would like to adopt. Also be precise and honest in explaining to him your way of maintaining your hair (ability to dry it, home coloring, frequency of your visits to the hairdresser, etc.). He will adapt your haircut and coloring according to your needs.

Makeup is just as important. There is a huge range of products of all price points on the market. Makeup techniques and product enhancement are definitely worth knowing. Consult a specialist in the field, either at a pharmacy or at a makeup products kiosk, and bring your beauty bag with you to take inventory with her. As for your hairdresser, discuss with the beautician your desires for change andyour ability to apply makeup, she will advise you according to your facial morphology, your skin type, your age and your style.

Fifth step: shopping

Now that your haircut and makeup are determined, it will be much easier for you to proceed to the last step: SHOPPING!

To change your look, you need Trendy elements. Accessories are the easiest thing to get to set the tone. Fashionable shoe, handbag, a nice watch, a new bracelet, fashionable sunglasses, a cocktail ring, a scarf printed in the colors of the season, etc.

Keep in mind that your new clothes should match your figure: they should camouflage your little flaws and highlight your assets!

What a good exercise for morale!
