Everyone has seen The Exorcist. Everyone must confess that they are afraid that their child will turn into a devil and vomit in a yoga position on the stairs!

I'm not saying that I got there, not at all, but let's say that some evenings, I have cold sweats when I have to go up to my daughter's room…
I have to explain to you certain notions, which you must master, to better understand my story. First, I live, in the countryside, in an old bicentenary house. Tsé the kind of house that has seen others. The kind of house you might not prefer to know what its walls, which have ears, have heard. The kind of house that, at the time, lent its living room to expose the body of its dead owner in the back field. The kind of house that's so old that its flaws are no longer hidden, but broken down. The kind of house that we don't know everything about her, but who she knows a lot! The kind of house that you don't ask too many questions about its past. The kind of house… Ok! You got it, I think!

The kind of house that could harbor spirits
Also you should know that my father passed away ten years ago. My daughters never knew him. When he left, I "inherited" his office chair. An antique not super comfortable, but that I love! I have always used it in my office. When we got pregnant for the second time, I had to give up my office and turn it into a child's room. As the house is not very big, I lost my desk… So we decided to leave my dad's chair in the little girl's room, to create a reading corner. Admit you see me coming like a hippopotamus on curling ice!
Well you're right
One night my daughter wakes up, she must have been two years old, two and a half years old – 24 and 30 months for the zealous ones. She cries, but cries solid there. The kind of crying that you don't even pause on match 7 of the cup to pitch yourself in his room. Of the 15 steps that my staircase has, I touched 4 max!
I come to her room, she is terrified! Unable to make a sentence that stands! She points to the corner of the room (where my dad's chair is) and says, in Verlan or whatever, that there's someone watching her! She's with me, but in dreamland at the same time. I try to put her back to bed, she doesn't want to know anything! I had to take her in my arms, rock her, take her out of her room… A simulated stroke later, she falls asleep in my arms… Then, nothing. Dead calm for the rest of the night.
The next morning, at lunch, my girlfriend and I talk to her about this “nightmare”. Nothing! She doesn't know what we're talking about… She doesn'tremember nothing. It was worth missing the second of a seventh Montreal-Boston game! Ok it was not a game it was just Love Is In The Meadow.
A few months later…
We sit at the table, yes I know… a lot of things happen at lunch at home. My father arrives on the subject and without a second thought my girlfriend asks the following question: “You girls, have you ever seen Grandpa? My first responds in the negative, stating that it cannot be because he is dead. My second said, “Yes. Simple as well, continuing to eat cereal! My beauty looks at me amused and continues: “Ah yes!? When? The little one answered: “In my room. Sitting in his chair! Another bite of cereal! I am no longer hungry.
I think I made a block, because I don't remember very well the continuation of the discussion. I know my daughter never said it wasn't true or was a joke or anything… My daughter sees ghosts?!
It's been a year
Time has passed, the chair is now in the garage and my little one still has night terrors. It must be said that we are starting to believe that she is a sleepwalker! Sometimes she wakes up in crisis and seems afraid of something in her room…
It may be nothing paranormal, but I have to admit that I don't get trippy when it happens! However, I am not the type to believe in such things! I tell myself that if she sees my father, it's not dangerous and that deep down… she's lucky!
Have the children at your house ever seen ghosts?
