October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year again, it is possible to show our support and encourage research by betting on pink.
Breast cancer is still the most commonly diagnosed tumor among Canadian women, with an estimated 23,200 women being diagnosed this year and 5,300 of them dying from it.
We are making great progress, however, and this year the Canadian Cancer Society invested $2.7 million in world-class breast cancer research. We also have much to be proud of as she recently made headlines with two clinical successes that will lead to better prevention and treatment of breast cancer worldwide. We love hope, let's continue to support the cause with pink!
TELUS goes pink
Again this year, TELUS is doing more than its share by donating $1 to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation for each person who participates in “ Pink Supports ” on Facebook. The goal is to raise $50,000 for research, early detection and treatment. Until December 31, they will also donate $25 to the Foundationfor every BlackBerry Curve rose sold. It's a practical and feminine way to support research.
Glow day after day
Still on Facebook, Procter &Gamble's Glow Day After Daypage allows you to donate $1 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for every video you watch, in addition to the initial $275,000 donation from P&G. Throughout the month of October, Canadian comedians will make capsules there to laugh for the cause. So, we click every day!
To celebrate victories, survivors, fighters and all those we love, Vincor is the year-round wine supplier of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. You can choose a rosé wine bearing the image of the Foundation and sign in pink “ink” here.
