We know that toddlers are very curious beings! They discover the world around them a little more each day and, once they learn to crawl, they become very difficult to stop!

Did you know that in 2020, around 100 children aged nine and under had to visit medical services for consequences related to electric shocks? That's why it's important to properly secure your home.
Phone chargers, computer extension cords, power bars for game consoles, electrical outlets at the height of the little ones… the dangers are multiple, and an accident can happen so quickly. So here are a few tips to make your home safer and guarantee you peace of mind at the same time!
Danger Ahead
It is important to identify the different potential sources of danger specific to your home. To do this, remember that your offspring loves to put everything it discovers in its mouth and may therefore be tempted to chew on the wire of a small electrical appliance within its reach or of an extension cord left on the ground, to put a damaged wire in itsmouth, to insert their little fingers or any other object into an electrical outlet or to pass their fingers between an electrical outlet and the plug of an appliance.
It goes without saying that the consequences of such actions can be catastrophic. Since the human body is mainly composed of water and minerals, it is a channel of choice for electricity. Thus, no one is immune to an electric shock, which can cause different reactions ranging from a simple tickling to muscle paralysis or severe burns, and can even lead to death. So it's always better to be in prevention mode.
Precautions to adopt
First, secure all electrical outlets in your home. To do this, you can install protective caps on unused sockets or buy sockets with a specially designed mechanism to prevent any object from being easily inserted.
Then, make sure you don't leave any extension cords or electrical appliance power cables lying around within reach of small hands (lamp, radio, kettle, etc.). So always take care to store your extension cords when they are not in use and to prevent your cocos from circulating near permanently connected electrical devices, such as lamps and electronic devices.
Finally, having a safe play area will help you relax while keeping an eye on their playtime!
In short, by putting these few tips into practice, you can easily and quickly make your home safer for everyone. You will thus avoid unfortunate incidents and have more time to enjoy sweet moments!
