Just a few more weeks and the school year will be over. You may be wondering: "But what could I offer my child's teacher? We asked the main interested parties the question. Here is what they told us.

1. A message that comes from the heartThe gift that everyone agrees on is the simplest: a beautiful, well-felt message. “I have received many gifts during my teaching career. The one that has always touched me is a beautiful card made by the child with a personalized message from him or his parents. – Ms. Marilyn, retired teacher
2. A gift cardBookstore, roastery, cinema, restaurant, SAQ… the choice is vast and we are sure not to be mistaken. “During the school year, I often don’t have time to read. So I'm back to summer. The holidays arrived, I rush to the bookstore to stock up. – Mr. Gilles
3. Wine and spiritsMany people don't dare admit it in public, but a good bottle is much appreciated. "As both a teacher and a mom, I know exactly what my son's teacher needs onlast day of school to decant: a good bottle of red! – Ms. Karine
4. A personalized giftHow touching to see that a parent or a child has noticed their teacher's preferences! “Throughout the year, the children get to know me. I like to receive a small gift that shows that the child has been marked by one of my passions. For my part, I love everything that has to do with camping, gardening and cooking. – Ms. Maude
5. Chocolate or other little sweetsKnowing that parents and child shared a beautiful moment to concoct fudge, it warms the heart. Short on time (or talent)? The shops are full of treats that will satisfy discerning palates. "Receiving a box of good quality chocolate is always appreciated. On the other hand, one year, I already received three boxes of Ferrero Rocher… I ate the first and gave the other two to my grandparents. – Mr. Francis
Please refrain
Of course, it is the intention that counts. But as long as giving a gift, we would like it to be really fun and not end up in a flea market…
We do not recommend giving the following items as gifts…
- Trinket or other decorative object: everyone likes to decorate their house to their liking… And that's very personal!
- Beauty or bath products, perfume: the choice of fragrance is really something very personal.
- Onecup: two cups (at least) a year for 30 years, well, that's a LOT of cups.
So we remember that it's the little touches that give the most pleasure. A few words that come from the heart will be enough to leave a memorable memory of your child's time in Mr. Martin's or Mrs. Vanessa's class.
