Hunting down the slopes is a great way to keep in shape while experiencing as many strong emotions as a family. How about downhill skiing?

Good news, the Association des stations de ski du Québec and its 75 resorts have received the green light from public he alth to open the slopes for the 2020-2021 season. In order to ensure the safety of board sports enthusiasts and ski center staff, the ASSQ has prepared a short video for you.
Skiing has long been seen as an expensive sport. It is true that for a full day, the price can climb very quickly. However, it would be wiser to plan to do a little two hours of skiing. First, it's a safe bet that after this weather, the children will look more at the hot chocolate and a snack at the chalet than to hit the slopes again and again. For the first ski experiences, aim for day portions. Many ski centers offer packages by the hour, block of hours or half-days. For example, at Mont-Saint-Bruno, you pay around thirty dollars for an hour of lessons, a lift pass and equipment. Thus, you reduce your expenses and do not even have to pay for a meal on site. It is often this portion that explodesexpenses.
Free skiing?
For the little ones
Amazing, but know that it is possible for 5 to 8 year olds to go downhill skiing for free (yes, yes !) everywhere in the province! Thanks to the initiative of the Maneige experience orchestrated by the Association of Quebec ski resorts, children will hurtle down the slopes to their measure! Everything is free! We lend the equipment (helmet, skis and boots), dynamic instructors show some simple techniques to the young athletes and then they have an hour to hurtle down the slopes. The "conveyor belt" that brings them gently to the top is always full of children! A great way to introduce toddlers to skiing! For more info and to know the conditions, see the site of the Maneige Experience.

For the older ones
Thanks to the Snow Passport, young people in 4th and 5th grade (have 9 or 10 years old) can ski and ride at nearly 150 ski resorts across Canada for just $29.95. The program offers up to three days of free skiing at each of the participating resorts. Guaranteed fun on the slopes all winter long. A child who registers at the start of their 9th birthday can use their pass until the end of their 10th birthday.
