
Nathalie Regimbal had fun creating six delicious cocktails containing three nutrients that pregnant women particularly need: folic acid, iron and calcium.

Everyone knows that pregnant women have special nutritional needs. So why not combine business with pleasure by offering them cocktails adapted to their nutritional needs and that please their taste buds?
Folic acid
Appellation. Folic acid or folacin is the name given to vitamin B9 when it is in supplement form. When it comes from food, it is called folate.
Sources. Folate is mainly found in organ meats (imagine an organ drink!), dark green leafy vegetables and legumes. Subsequently, it is found in seeds, nuts, oranges (fruits and juices), pineapples (canned juices) and some other dark green vegetables. Fortified grain products are an excellent source of folic acid.

Iron
Appellation. There are two forms of iron: heme iron and non-heme iron.
Sources. Heme iron is found in meats, poultry, fish, and seafood. Non-heme iron is found in plant foods such as dark green vegetables, legumes, breads, and grain cereals whole grains as well as iron-fortified flours and cereals. It is also found in nuts, seeds, soy beverage, tofu, tomato juice, fruit and blackstrap molasses. Heme iron is better utilized than non-heme iron. In order to better assimilate non-heme iron, a food rich in vitamin C can be added to the dish or meal.

Calcium
Appellation. Calcium (can't be wrong!)
Sources. Calcium is mainly found in firm tofu made with calcium sulphate, fortified soy beverage, tofu prepared with calcium s alt, cow's milk, goat's milk, dairy products, legumes as wellthan canned salmon and sardines with the bones. Vitamin D facilitates the intestinal absorption of calcium and is essential for the efficient use of calcium by the body. So choose foods that combine calcium and vitamin D, such as milk and fortified soy beverage.
