Today, Sophie is a key employee in one of the largest 3D design firms in Montreal. She lives off her talent and makes her potential shine. His father shared his story with me and without knowing it, he came to contribute to my mission. This is why I get up every morning: To make potential shine.

In turn, I share my convictions with you.

Sophie's caring educator took a moment to observe the situation. After a few observations, she realized that the children were intimidated by the drawing skills of the young artist. The educator therefore asked little Sophie to show others how she did it. On the strength of this experience, Sophie's parents encouraged her to continue drawing, despite her difficulties at school. And you know the rest…

Betting on the future

Each person has a unique charisma that allows them toshine. This uniqueness is more tangible during childhood and the parent, expert of his child, is the best observer to highlight the strengths of his child.

I am certain that if we give our children tools to detect their strengths from an early age, we give them a passport to self-esteem and improve their chance to achieve the best version of themselves.

How to make our little suns shine?

Lead by example

To recognize the strengths of others, you must begin by recognizing your own strengths.

Do you know your talents? Do you know what you are good at? A quick way to know them is to make a spontaneous list of 10 successes. Then find the values and qualities you used for each of these successes. Some traits are coming back? There's a good chance it's your talents.

Teach him to follow his intuition

Faced with the choices of life, we are quickly stunned by noises (conventions, sayings, looks from others). Start with simple choices and stick with it when it doesn't threaten his safety or compliance with the rules. From the age of 4, you can ask him about his choice: “Why did you choose to ride a bike instead of going to play ball? »

Trust yourself. By listening to him, you will know better than anyone if he is listening to his intuition.

Highlight their accomplishments

How does it feel when you succeed? Our successesare excellent times to exercise our talents. Help your child identify their successes. When he dresses himself, instead of telling him that he is handsome (judgment), you can tell him that he is skilful, quick, that he has a good sense of observation to arrange the details of the clothes together (if this is the case, of course, otherwise we can find it original, even daring, in turquoise and orange…).

Help him make connections

By dint of naming him his many successes, he will end up making connections on his own. For example:

  • Climber, he has always been a daredevil who likes to challenge himself… So why not try the circus?
  • Good at reading and logic, he must have a talent for strategy… Let's try programming or robotics.
  • He is a docile child who has always had ease with instructions and respect for others. Maybe he has a talent for discipline? If we enrolled him in karate?

Sophie was fortunate to be surrounded by an observant educator and caring parents. By emphasizing her talents, she was able to stay focused on her strengths despite her school obstacles and today excel in a role of her own. Let's give our children this passport that will help them on their way to the best version of themselves!
