July is in full swing, it's hot. As you know, when the thermometer climbs, it is important to get enough hydration. A brief overview of the issue of hydration and ideas for cooling off in style.

Why is it so important to stay hydrated?
You should know that we lose more than 2 L of water every day through breathing, sweat and elimination of waste. It is therefore imperative to replace these fluid losses in order to avoid dehydration and its undesirable effects such as fatigue, dizziness and headaches. Yes, yes… you read that right: headaches! And when it's very hot, as the body produces more sweat to regulate body temperature, it loses more water than usual. So we need to eat more of it. If you are active and move a lot, this phenomenon is even more amplified.
The amount of water you need depends on several factors such as age, gender, level of physical activity as well as the outside temperature. On average, a man needs 3 L of water per day and a woman 2.2 L. Some of this water is provided by the foods that you eat.we consume, like our precious fruits and vegetables, and the rest through beverages. Know that it is not necessary to calculate the number of glasses of water that we drink per day. On the other hand, it is important to drink regularly and not ignore your thirst.
Drink with style and flavor
When it comes time to stay hydrated, nothing beats a good glass of water. Water contains no calories, sugar (natural or added), artificial sweeteners, or caffeine. No! What water! Do you find it boring? Embellished with fruits, herbs or even vegetables, your water turns into a delicious and so refreshing drink. And here, I'm not talking about a simple slice of sad lemon, but beautiful generous and colorful toppings. I don't know if it's a girl thing, but when I pour my water into a nice glass or a stylish pitcher, I drink more…and it seems to taste better!
Island classic: lime + mint
Take inspiration from the famous mojito and garnish your glass with several slices of lime and a big sprig of mint.
The fruity: strawberry + pineapple + basil
Strawberry and pineapple are two fruits that go very well with basil. Dare, you will see! You can put the fruit and fresh grass in the bottom of your glass and then add the water…or even blend the strawberries, pineapple, basil and water for an unparalleled flavored water.
Curcubitaceous: cucumber + watermelon
Garnish your glass with cubes ofvery ripe watermelon and thin slices of cucumber. Just thinking about it, I'm refreshed!
The exotic: lychee and raspberry
Use canned lychees (much easier!) and fresh or frozen raspberries. A beautiful alliance between the exotic and sweet taste of lychee and the freshness of raspberry. Ps. I always add a little juice from canned lychees to my water…it’s just too good.
For a chilled drink, I always alternate toppings with ice until the glass is full, then top up with water. It is allowed to use sparkling water if you prefer! To release the maximum flavor from the herbs, do not hesitate to crush them lightly in the bottom of your glass before adding the water.
Cheers!
