The Movement “I like fruits and vegetables! »
For a few years now, the “I like 5 to 10 servings a day” campaign has been spreading everywhere on the various Quebec platforms. However, the Quebec Association for the Distribution of Fruits and Vegetables had the ambition to do even more, hence the creation of the Movement "I love fruits and vegetables!" ". This Movement will therefore succeed the campaign, but always with the same objective of helping the population to consume more fruits and vegetables. The main difference is that the Movement will be carried by a greater number of partners and ambassadors, including the participation of the government. The ultimate goal is to make the pleasure of eating fruits and vegetables viral, in order to collectively improve the he alth of the Quebec population. And to make it happen, we need your help!

The scientific journal “International Journal of Epidemiology” published, in 2017, a summary based on the results of 95 international studies, the conclusion of which was summarized as follows: “the fact of consuming, every day, 10 servings of vegetables and fruit could prevent millions of early deaths each year. It is estimated that nearly 8 million premature deaths can be avoided each year through adequate plant consumption”.

If we have succeeded in considerably reducing the prevalence of smoking in Quebec since the 90s, it is thanks to sustained awareness campaigns. It is also due to teamwork, involving the government, restaurateurs, the public, etc. This is what we want with the Movement: to bring together as many people as possible. To this end, the fruit and vegetable industry will continue its monetary and promotional commitment within the community. For my part, I will work with a team of extraordinary ambassadors in order to promote the Movement as much as possible on social networks. They are Hubert Cormier, nutritionist, Virginie Goudreault, passionate about he alth and well-being, Jimmy Sévigny, trainer and Caroline Huard from Loounie cooks.
