The International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated on October 11 every year. It is a perfect day to reflect and discuss the difficulties that girls may face in the various spheres of society.

About this day
25 years ago, some 30,000 women and men from nearly 200 countries gathered in Beijing, China, for the Fourth World Conference on Women. All were determined to have women's rights recognized as fundamental rights.
The culmination of the conference was the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action: the most comprehensive policy agenda ongender equality.
In the years since, women have pushed this agenda forward. They have taken the lead in global movements addressing issues ranging from sexual and reproductive he alth rights to equal pay.
Today, these movements have expanded. They are organized by and for adolescent girls: girls from all walks of life boldly demand action against discrimination, violence andmeager teaching opportunities.
“It is because I was brave enough to convince my parents to let me go to school instead of getting married that I can do what I love the most: study. »
