A child's bedroom is the only room of their own in your home. Here's how to make it a place with punch and where life is good.

Cutouts and textures
To give movement to your child's room, cutouts are unbeatable. You can simply put down molding or a tapestry strip that will separate the walls into two sections or use paneling and color gradients to give a “wonderland” effect to the room. By laying the frames diagonally and adding curtains of several colors to the windows, you will achieve a spectacular result.

A permanent reading nook
Everyone loves reading nooks near a window. What if this reading corner was really comfortable? What if it was a bed?
If your child's room is rectangular, it is possible to make a false wall and "embed" the bed. You can even add a little curtain to it. This way you will get a unique bed and you can better manage the rest of the space.

Dare black
By carefully matching light colors and dark colors, you can paint a wall(or the bottom of a wall) in black without giving a gothic effect. Use chalkboard paint so your child can draw as much as they want on it, and add a brightly colored decal to give the wall a childlike look.

Highlight the moldings
During the day, your cutouts and moldings give a nice effect, but at night you hardly see them. To give a little life and a lot of style to the whole room, you can light up your moldings and cutouts. To do this, embed lights as in the photo or stick lights on the side of the moldings. If the moldings are thick enough, it will be a breeze.

Traffic signs
Rather than fight with your child who leaves their wooden trains and Lightning McQueens lying around, turn them into decorative objects. By putting road signs as picture frames, the room will turn into a road and the rails that you are not allowed to touch will now be part of a coherent whole.

The maritime look
A child's room does not need major renovations to have a maritime atmosphere. You don't even need to paint the walls if they are white. Just find a few props like a buoy cushion, stick on some fake portholes, and use lots of blue in the accent props. As your child grows, you may want to add a pirate flag here and there…

Every room has its potential
Whether your child's room has large windows, an angled ceiling, or a particular shape, use the quirks to your advantage. Every little corner you use to its fullest potential will save you space elsewhere. Put up curtains to divide a small bedroom, install a storage bench that will become a reading corner under the window, take advantage of the angles to cut out the colors… Your child will look like he has a bigger bedroom, and unique apart from this!

Divert attention
If you have limited space and live in an apartment with little storage, draw attention away from storage bins and toy bags by using bright colors.

A headboard that does it all
You can invest the bedroom budget in a headboard that will set the whole mood on its own. This headboard can even be used as storage if you place doors and shelves on the sides. If you are not very handy, you may find a base that you like and that you can repaint to your liking.

The Famous Princesses
If your little girl loves princesses, give her a pink bedroom where Aurora and Rapunzel will give her beautiful smiles. Later, when she finds it all very "baby" from the height of her 6 years, you can trade the princesses for starssilver and a “de grande” chandelier. You won't have to start all over again anytime soon.

Decals & Wall Appliques
If you love to decorate and change furniture every season, bet on decals. They won't cost you much and they will allow you to change everything on a whim and put new toys on display from time to time. Adzif has great templates that will give you ideas!

The sporty child
If your child is active and always needs to move, plan a room accordingly. Add a miniature climbing wall at the end of his bed, put a basketball hoop where he can throw a foam ball, draw a hopscotch game in colored sticky paper on the floor… Your little athlete will be really happy with his room full of 'activities.
