This year, we're celebrating Halloween at home with a Mexican Fiesta-style Glow in the dark party! Here's how to prepare it all.

OLÉ OLÉ decoration
For my party decorations, I like to focus on a single focal point that I use throughout the party. Here, I have placed a large black sheet that will serve as a background to hang my balloons and other thematic decorations. It will be perfect to set the tone for my dinner table, my candy bar and also to make a great Photo Booth at the end of the evening.
As a tablecloth, I used a large Mexican blanket that I had bought while traveling. I also got some decorations to hang, beautiful mini piñatas to put on the table and, for a festive effect in the evening, I replaced my bulbs with UV bulbs, Glow in the dark balloons, fluorescent sticks and two “spots” of LED party lights that I can reuse in our next parties!
A Spicy Supper
Start the Fiesta with a Taco Bar! Put on a large table soft shells, hard shells, corn or wheat tortillas! Lay out a stack of each on the table to give your cocos a choice! Add a variety of proteins such as seasoned chicken, black beans andground beef. Decorate your table with beautiful colorful garnishes: grilled peppers, avocados, tomatoes, limes, cheeses, cilantro, red cabbage, radishes, corn… And don’t forget the hot sauces!
Muerta activities
1) Disguises: To amuse young and old children, I filled a basket with disguises already in stock: skeleton, sombrero, maracas, crown of flowers, gloves, ukulele, etc.
These costumes will be perfect for the Photo Booth!
2) Makeup: I also bought UV makeup that glows when the black lights are on.
The children had a blast painting their bodies and faces to celebrate the Day of the Dead.
It was also really perfect for taking beautiful photos day and night!
4) The candy bar: The candy bar is always a great idea to end a nice evening. CLICK HEREto see our super inspiring Halloween ideas.5) The experiment: Finally, I suggest you make a drink that glows in the dark with the children. Cool No?
If this turns you on too, here are our 3 Glow in the dark mocktail recipes to experience.
Happy Halloween!
